I'm pretty excited about this program, but I'm either missing something, or have found bugs, because...

If it really adds stereoscopic 3D to programs that have zero stereoscopic ability, why is it that when I run glxgears through stereowrap without the "-stereo" parameter, I don't see stereo3D, but with it, I do?

Also, I tried running a game in Wine through stereowrap, and saw no stereoscopic 3D effect.

There are programs out there that support programs that do output stereoscopic streams, and converge those streams into a regular OpenGL stream with anaglyph, so that such stereo programs can be ran on regular graphics cards. But that's entirely different that creating stereo3D from a regular OpenGL stream.

Given the program motto:
"Stereowrap is an emulation layer implementing stereoscopic OpenGL visuals on top of non stereo capable OpenGL implementations.",
I would think it's supposed to add stereoscopic 3D to regular programs, thus being similar to VRizer, DDD, and iZ3D.

Have I simply found bugs?

I wish this program the best.

Jake

As noted in the other comment, this repo is only for the modifications to allow driving shutter glasses over USB with custom hardware. The link to the original code is in the main description. All the credit goes to the original author.
That being said, the way I understand the phrase is that it adds stereoscopic capabilities to graphic cards or their drivers that don't support stereoscopic views. The programs have to support it.
