Mass Remove Alerts

After the last automatic update (to 11.2.7), our UTMStack appears to have gone crazy and created 5000 alerts an hour for what appears to be the same alert (though the related events are different, usually be seconds to minutes). I've disabled that detection rule now, but is there a way to mass delete the alerts? And is there is a way to prevent it from sending the (basically same) alert so many times?
