React component containing the player gets destroyed and throws a "provider destroyed" error

I have a component with something like this inside

                {item.linkType === 'youtube' && (
                    <MediaPlayer src={`youtube/${item.link}`} autoPlay>
                        <MediaProvider />
                        <DefaultVideoLayout icons={defaultLayoutIcons} />
                    </MediaPlayer>
                )}

When the linkType changes, the mediaplayer and provider get destroyed ofc. I get an error

provider destroyed
    at handleError (http://localhost:3000/static/js/bundle.js:76808:58)
    at http://localhost:3000/static/js/bundle.js:76831:7

Am I doing something wrong?

Experiencing the same in Vue when the player unmounts.
