How to make deck.gl (layers) appear on top of google maps

I am using the <Map> component as a child of the <Deckgl> component.

The zIndex for google maps in the style is correctly set to -1 through this code as far as I see it (through the debugger):

So google maps knows it is wrapped by deck.gl

Do I have to do anything else to ensure deck.gl and its layers appear on top of google maps?

react-google-maps: 0.3.3
deck.gl: 8.9.32

Answering my own question 😁

I needed to call limitTiltRange in the onViewStateChange callback of <DeckGL>. Didn't think it could have to do with this, but there we are. All working nicely now 👍
