smoothing of contour plots

I have calculated concentration on a relatively coarse 3D grid. The
resulting 3D or slice depictions of the data display lines that are
angular.

Is there a way to apply smoothing to a contour plot (e.g. switch from a
linear interpolation to a spline interpolation)?

It would be helpful to see a picture of what you are talking about.

One option might be to apply the resample operator. But, make sure the variable you are re-sampling
is node centered, not zone centered. If in question, create the Expression (name it 'foo' lets say)

recenter(<your variable>,'nodal')

and then contour plot the variable 'foo' in place of your variable. Apply resample operator and set
number of samples in x,y and z to say 300 each.

Hello,

I am plotting a 3D contour at a single value (0.5) of a variable (see fig.
below). I would like to know if there is a way to add caps (flat surfaces)
at the edges of the bounding box.

The figure as it is now looks like there is a hollow region inside some of
the domains and I would like them to look solid.

I tried finding something like a 'filled' contour option but no luck.

i have tried other things but none seem to work well.

Using a Pseudocolor or Subset plot with an Isovolume operator can do what you want. The Isovolume
operator will take all of the cell volumes that fit into the range you specify and clip the surface
as with the Contour plot. Since it?s a volume operation, the external faces that are plotted will
include the faces along the edges of the volume.
