Modern UI - Save generation settings/prompt/UI automatically

Hi,
the latest update kind of "forced" me to the modern UI. In the original UI I used a state extension that automatically (on-the-fly) saved the state of the prompt, samplers, steps and so on.

It doesn't work in the modern UI however. Is there any way to get a similar functionallity in Modern UI.
There is the "System" -> "user interface" -> "set ui defaults", but it is not automatic and also requires a restart to work (reloading the UI is not enought). It is also not selective.
Any suggestions or tips for me?

i'm not aware of anything that would do that, but if you really like your extension and it works with standard ui, feel free to use standard ui.
only thing that changes is default, but you can re-enable standard ui at any point in time.

Technically I guess the basic functionallity for this already exists, with the "Persist UI layout" setting, that remembers the UI layout. I think.

persist ui layout persists sizes of panels and things like which panel is selected, etc. - those things get saved in browser.
it does not persist values of each item in ui. - those things get saved on the server in ui-config.json.

Ah, ok. Makes sense.

By the way, I could be wrong but I think the ui-config.json is loaded/processed when the server start. If the browser is refreshed it doesn't read it again. So if you save new default values by "System" -> "user interface" -> "set ui defaults", that won't be active without a full restart of the webui. It should maybe trigger a refresh/reload of ui-config.json when the browser is fully reloaded. Take this with a grain of salt, haven't done any in depth testing. If you agree that it's a bit odd, I can verify it and write an "issue" for it.

not wrong except one detail - when you save defaults, it writes them to ui-config.json, but it doesn't update current defaults.
whats needed is that save to file also updates current defaults since that is what gets set in the ui when you refresh. it doesn't have to be on browser reload, its a server side thing. i'll take a look at that, no need for issue.

i've tried two quick approaches to get new default values immediately show in ui after ui refresh, but its not that easy as it would require a full re-init of server-side ui code. this would be a valid feature request, but given the amount of work and risk-vs-gain, not sure about priorities.
saving ui defaults immediately is easy, its the single method call.
