idea as such has merits and nothing wrong with filing it. however, sdnext does have option to save all generation info into json file - see settings -> image metadata |

Now to clarify I'm a complete noob with any of this so I don't know if this would be hard to implement, or maybe it is implemented and I failed to see it working but if those are not the case then why not suggest it?
Basically my suggestion is that on the metadata that's appended to the image (or video, I admittedly have only used basic text-to-image prompts to make static images) would have the overall time it took to complete, from the moment you click the Generate button to when the image is finalized, which would include detailer and/or refine passes and other stuff. The simplest version would just show total time, and a more detailed version could break down the different parts of the process and the time they take
Now obviously, I know that on after a image is finished the time info is displayed, like on the example below.

However my issue is that info is not saved permanently, if you close that window it's gone. I get that the console can be logged and there is information there regarding the generation of images, but I think that there is something to be gained in adding that type of info on the metadata of the images' themselves. So it could be viewable in the gallery tab and on the image properties.

I hope I'm not double posting on something that has already been suggested, I checked and didn't find another topic on this though I could have missed it, And I hope this is taken in consideration, I do think having information easily accessible for the user is one of the pillars of good design. That said, I do really like this project and hope it continues to grow!
