I feel I may be missing some important bit of knowledge because talk of specifying a time range seems a maybe not so useful. How would a user know what time range they want to look at? Address ranges seem much more useful because can easily isolate to the code you want to examine. |
@sifivekevin it is the tool to convert an arbitrary VCD into a smaller, filtered VCD. Not every VCD file dumped from simulation of CPUs. It can be any HW system. The only common thing for every VCD is time. The filter function (on other hand) can look for specific signal changes and some of them are addresses of some sort. |
