I'm currently using my M1 Mac mini as a makeshift VDI server, connecting to it using Screen Sharing with an older machine. It works, except that I can't set the resolution correctly for the client display's resolution (1680x1050) because BetterDisplay only exposes dummy resolutions in multiples of 20 of the height. What this means is I either have to set the connected dummy to either 1664x1040, resulting in a bright white border on the client, or 1696x1060, and having micro-display scrolls. Both options are quite irritating. While 1680x1050 is possible as a HiDPI resolution, client doesn't scale it correctly and will display double size; it isn't viable anyway due to VNC overhead. Is there something I'm missing or is LoDPI 1680x1050 (or any arbitrary resolution not 20h) not a supported configuration? |

Oh no wonder I didn't see this-- I was on legacy still and never noticed the new version. It works now, thank you. |

Hi there,
the app creates resolution in multiples of the defined aspect ratio. You can alter both the aspect ratio and the steps here:
You can also configure the virtual screen with a list of custom resolutions (by turning on the
Use custom resolution list
toggle) if you don't want the resolution list to be auto-generated.Let me know if this does not work!
