context... there are a lot of Interop 2025 Focus Area proposals around color and/or animation features that are unlikely to be fully tested with the contrast and motion related CSS prefs.

w3c/csswg-drafts#6517 might be useful here - nascent work but it should allow user control of the prefers-* media queries.
