Looking for help with maintaining the plugin

I don't find as much time anymore to work on this plugin as I used to. This caused the last few updates for support of new IDEA version to be delayed. Also as I don't daily drive a Linux machine anymore keeping the Linux implementations up to date has been a bit of a hassle and guess work.

Of course I will still provide updates to the plugin if new IDEA versions release and as issues are filed, but the issues mentioned above won't disappear without any further maintenance help. You do not need figure out the code-base alone. I will provide help wherever possible. Even simple help like updating to new IDEA versions (addressing API changes, deprecation warnings etc.) would help tremendously.

I found this plugin a couple of weeks ago and would like to give a hand. I came here looking for help as the plugin stopped working after upgrading to 2024.3 version (#93).

I'm not aware of IDEA plugin development, but as I'm using IDEA in Linux on a daily basis I think I can give it a try.

I had a look at code changes for previous IDEA upgrades and I think for the 2024.3 only settings.gradle file has to be edited, I made the changes in this branch: mexchip@de61e78 and tested in my machine, it seems to work.

I'm sure I can help with this kind of updates, but at this moment I'm not sure about the other issues, I'll need to have a look at IDEA plugin development documentation first.

I appreciate it. As usually the Idea plugin needs to be updated frequently (which causes quite some churn, as the build is quite fragile currently) I didn't get to check what needs to be done. Therefore even having someone check necessary upgrade changes is very helpful. Just submitted a new compatible version.

I'd like to contribute, namely adding LXQt support. Point me in the direction boss and i'll get to it :)

I guess LXQt doesn't support any of the current implementations? If not then one would go about this by creating a separate implementation as a subproject of "/linux", similar to the Xdg or Gtk implementation. You can build on how these are implemented adjusting them to your specific needs.

I've dabbled with fiddling with an intellij plugin fork already
