- Add a faded gray or red line underneath / behind the full width of the area used by the red line to communicate the count of relations
I think this would give it a little more of a progress-bar look, sort of like the Milestone completion bar to the right on these issue pages, to show the scale of how many relations are in each set. With no other color or visual alongside the red line to show a max amount (and where there aren't multiple relations links visible with widely varying counts), I don't think it is as apparent that it communicates an amount to be compared to the others
- Perhaps use a small set of target names for types of links rather than them all being _blank and opening new windows
While exhibiting the site, I noticed that lots of new tabs/windows were piling up in the browsers, and I wonder if all the links of similar type should have the same target so maybe only one new tab/window will be opened for that kind of link. Not certain this would help, but curious if it will improve UX for some people
- Use a cookie to control showing key on page load
Set a cookie after x seconds of viewing the key via JS, assuming the key has been read
Increment the page load count in the cookie contents until x page loads and then assume key no longer needs to be open at page load
- Relations document counts in addition to change counts
Red line communicates the number of individual changes
Could add another line in green or another color to communicate the number of documents
