Is it possible to add an option to always display the Wikidata link?

At present this appears (as a redlink) only if no WD entry exists:
Screenshot of article with User:Galobtter/Shortdesc helper installed. The red Wikidata link appears first in the gadget's list of options

I would find it useful to have a link to WD handy at all times.

This new option would not be tied to the existing option to always display the WD description; it would be a separate, new option, probably off by default.
