Hi! Yes, good idea. I am currently working with the MITgcm and will not have much time to fiddle around with NEMO and xarray. But I'll try to keep track of things happening and maybe contribute again towards the end of the year or next year...

Great idea @willirath! I think something built around xorca would be great to replace the classic CDFTOOLS. I've got some examples for computing stream functions somewhere that I'm happy to share.
