More Offhand Slots x Accessories Compat Layer

When loading More Offhand Slots with Accessories Compat Layer, the number of slots gets reduced to 1. This isn't really that big an issue, I can just adjust the number of slots in the config. The REAL problem is that I can no longer have a stack of items in these extra slots. As an example, I can no longer hold a stack of torches or cobblestone, I can only hold 1 of each.

I should also mention that with this mod loaded with More Offhand Slots, every single item (modded or not) now has the "Slot: Offhand" subtext, which isn't that problematic, but can be a little distracting.
