Not sure how to frame this "issue"...
The map interface currently doesn't feature the zoom in & out buttons, so the user has to use a pinch gesture to zoom.
In order to pan the map, the user has to use two fingers. The map is barely three fingers wide in mobile portrait mode, so this seems quite absurd, although it does work.
There is also the related scrolling issue to consider, #441
and the related popup issue, #442

(Maybe disable all "mini" map interactions on pocket portrait interfaces, while establishing or reinforcing alternative routes to / presentations of the info, e.g. site pages via region page.)

It appears that the zoom controls are intentionally not shown on mobile. Perhaps because they take up precious map space.

I think that was me that disabled them - they covered most of the map.

Oh, I didn't realised they'd gone, from maps on mobile?
I wonder if they could be put outside the map in those situations.
