This was from a version earlier this year. Possibly in February.
I am now loading the nightly build to see if it can happen again.

I believe the gnuplot problem to be solved by now: gnuplot comes in two flavours: One that keeps a command console open and one that doesn't grab the mouse focus and that closes if it is just opened in the background in order to ask it for its graphics driver support. Also I found yet another way to try to kill Maxima on exit.
