NavOSS is a navigation technical beta with active turn-by-turn guidance in Calgary and selected official map overlays in Ontario and Kelowna. It has no live traffic. It must not be your only source for navigation, road closures, traffic, or safety-camera information. Follow posted signs and laws. Mount the phone before driving and have a passenger handle any interaction that cannot be completed safely.
On first launch, NavOSS asks for foreground location access and automatically centres the map after permission is granted. Later launches reuse the existing grant without prompting. If access was denied or disabled in iOS Settings, the location button remains available after access is restored.
- App version and build number;
- iPhone model and iOS version;
- local date/time;
- start area and destination;
- expected road or maneuver;
- actual road or maneuver;
- whether Avoid highways was enabled;
- screenshot, if it does not expose sensitive information; and
- whether Apple Maps or Google Maps differed at that same time.
Do not send a home address, precise trip history, or other sensitive information unless it is essential to reproduce the issue.
- Calgary and Kelowna search and routing; Ontario currently provides selected official overlays only;
- no live traffic or traffic-aware ETA;
- no lane guidance, Android release, or offline routing;
- CarPlay is available only in the dedicated tester build and has not completed real-vehicle validation;
- place search and route quality are still being expanded; and
- safety-camera records may be incomplete or change between source updates; and
- road-event markers are informational, construction updates twice daily, current incidents are explicitly unverified in Calgary, Ontario 511 events are official, and neither regional feed provides live congestion or traffic-aware routing; and
- NavOSS does not show police patrol, checkpoint, or speed-trap locations.
If NavOSS suggests an illegal, closed, inaccessible, or dangerous maneuver, stop using that route when safe and report it with the details above. NavOSS support is not an emergency service. Call local emergency services for an emergency.
