This is a crucial problem as the user isn't able to specify specific DCCs paths on their machine.

Also, how can someone edit local settings schema, to add a new entry or smth?

Currently, All settings are moved out to Ayon server.
Pipeline admins can add as many executables as they want in the application settings on the server.

It's considered to have user settings where artist can add their own executable paths.

For reference, let me add some answers to your question from discord :

Alain: On Mustafa's screenshot, you see a + icon close to the executable field.
It allows to have several paths for a same "main" version of a software (Maya 2024 for example).
For example you can have a computer having Maya 2024.1 installed on C, and another computer having Maya 2024.2 installed on D, Ayon will allow both as Maya 2024.

Alain: For a company this size (+100 artists), maybe the solution would be to ask the IT department to make sure all their computers are installed the same way (same paths).

Milan: We rarely see more than 2-3 path in there. Even with studios that have many artists sitting at home, they tend to have DCCs in default locations.
That being said, we'll be adding that option back, but then it will most probably live in the user profile..
