Maybe I'm missing it in the directions but how do you control the physical upscale size? So if I have a 1024x1024 image and want to make it 2048x2048 (i.e. 2x) how would I control that?

you can't, its a fixed 4x upscale, thats the way the code is written.

just downscale the result to 2x

Yep, it's not possible to use different scale factor
