* begin testing racoon2 as L2TP/IPsec or IKEv2 VPN server on
Linux for compatability with built-in Windows, iOS, and Android
VPN clients
* IKEv1 L2TP/IPsec VPN connections from built-in Windows 10 and
iOS 13 VPN clients to racoon2 VPN server on Linux successfully
tested
* successfully tested multiple simultaneous L2TP/IPsec or IKEv2
connections from built-in Windows or Apple VPN clients to racoon2
on NetBSD and multiple simultaneous L2TP/IPsec connections from
built-in Windows or Apple VPN clients to racoon2 on Linux
* limited support for IKEv2 VPN connections from Windows 10 to
racoon2 VPN server on Linux successfully tested - due to
limitations of the pfkeyv2 interface to the Linux kernel that
racoon2 uses, only IKEv2 IPv4 in IPv4 tunnels have been
successfully tested usign racoon2 on Linux. It is likely IPv6 in
IPv6 tunnels will also work on Linux, but this has not been tested
yet. IPv6 in IPv4 tunnels are not compatable with the current
version of racoon2 on Linux
* begin evaluating approaches to extend the capabilities of racoon2
on Linux
2018-07-08 Christos Zoulas, Chuck Zmudzinski
* iked: IKEv2 connections to Mac OS X and ios successfully tested

The kinkd_catchup09_20050830 branch was merged. Now, kinkd is based
on draft-11 and not interoperable with racoon2-20051102a's one.
2006-01-10
* Key usage numbers were assigned.

is also changed.
2005-08-30
* kinkd_catchup09_20050830 branch to catch-up to the -09 draft.
2005-12-16 KAMADA Ken'ichi <[email protected]>

revived.

* iked: add ike_sa soft expiration
2005-11-08 KAMADA Ken'ichi
* UNSECURE_MODE was merged into ENABLE_SECURE, which is enabled by
default and can be disabled by --disable-secure. --enable-debug
will no longer affect this.
2005-11-02
* racoon2-20051102a was released.
2005-10-28 FUKUMOTO Atsushi <[email protected]>
* iked: fixed rekeying bug related to timer memory handling, which
was causng occasional crash after rekeying.
2005-10-03 FUKUMOTO Atsushi <[email protected]>
* iked: Responder-side TS matching rule change. Previously,
TS were required to be exactly equal to a selector in
configuration. New rule allows the initiator's TS proposal to
be wider than responder's configured selector. Responder
replies with a TS which is narrowed to its own selector.
2005-09-30 FUKUMOTO Atsushi <[email protected]>
* iked: New configuration option --enable-pcap (on by default)
enables decrypted packet dump output to a file specified by
new command line option -P. It is effective only if
--enable-debug is on (on by default).
Specify --disable-pcap in an environment libpcap.a is not available.
2005-09-20 FUKUMOTO Atsushi <[email protected]>
* iked: ike_sa rekeying code was merged in but still buggy.
2005-09-07 KAMADA Ken'ichi
* kinkd: The interpretation of the ctime in the KRB-ERROR was fixed.
The stime contains the server's time and ctime/cusec is copied from
the AP-REQ.
2005-09-06 KAMADA Ken'ichi <[email protected]>
* kinkd: PID file is now overwritten if it can be flock()ed.
2005-09-02 KAMADA Ken'ichi <[email protected]>
* kinkd: The rekeying-forever problem on Linux was fixed by checking
sadb_lifetime::sadb_lifetime_allocations on soft expire messages.
2005-08-31 FUKUMOTO Atsushi <[email protected]>
* iked/{ikev2_child.c,ike_conf.c,ike_pfkey.c}: Linux PF_KEY
generates soft-expire regardless the SA was used or not. Now
iked checks lft_current_alloca (sadb_lifetime_allocations) and
start rekeying only if it is not zero. On FreeBSD/NetBSD,
kernel does not generate hard lifetime expiration. To remedy
this, iked maintains its own expiration timer for each IPsec
SA. Since the iked can't know how much bytes used for the SA,
lifetime_bytes in the configuration are ignored for now.
2005-08-03 KAMADA Ken'ichi <[email protected]>
* kinkd/kink_conf.c (match_saddr_with_config): Deleted.
(get_kink_if_list): New function.
kinkd/session.c (update_addrs): Use get_kink_if_list().
kinkd now uses rcs_extend_addrlist() to get KINK I/F addresses
instead of doing that by itself. Thus, unusable (detached, etc)
addresses will not be tried any longer.
2005-08-02 Mitsuru KANDA <[email protected]>
* lib/if_pfkeyv2.c lib/if_pfkeyv2.h lib/racoon.h
lib/rc_type.c lib/rc_type.h: Support 'SADB_X_SPDDUMP'.
* spmd/Makefile.in spmd/spmdctl.8 spmd/spmdctl.c:
Introduce 'spmdctl policy show'.
