Tom has asked me to quickly go through the PR changes related to multi-port reading. In general, I think this approach is also viable. Wanted to also mention DPDK Bond PMD - it's a virtual PMD which do the port aggregation for you so you don't need to facilitate support around multi-port reading. It ideally behaves like a normal port and is transparent so any configuration change you make is then applied to the member ports of the bond interface.
