Other than a laptop, you'll need a cloud (aka datacentre) to finish each lab.
The following clouds are available for use (and have ben tested by the OpenStack Marketplace) to work with the various lab challenges:
- CityCloud
- DataCentred
- OVH is the official cloud sponsor of the OpenStack Academy at the Barcelona Summit
- Internap
If you have trouble getting onto any of these, please don't hesitate to send a question via tweet using the #CloudApp hashtag. A community 'cloud app pros' will be monitorring this channel throughout the summit to provide you help.
To do this training as a participatory team you will need to have:
- 3+ people on your team all sitting together around a single laptop, aka 'mob programming'.
- a team member who understands SSH keys, ReST APIs, IRC, Python, etc.
- a team member who likes to tweet and understands social constructs like hashtags
- a team member who is good at Googling and feeding information into the team.
- The shared laptop which all team eyes will be upon should have:
- an IDE with Python 2.8+ installed.
- a text editor like vim or nano
- a mobile phone with a camera and twitter connected twitter account
- a piece of paper and pen for drawing up some ideas.
