This version extends the 0.2.0 version from 2007 with a handful of useful extra output fields and fixes.
- New output fields:
- Show all KEY=VALUE pairs from the uio device's uevent sysfs file as device attributes (when invoked with the '--verbose' flag). This can help a lot in identifying the right uio device to use.
- For each mapping, show its offset if non-zero, and its name (which might be the empty string).
- Several small fixes
Please note I am not stepping up as maintainer. I was asked to tag my version of this code with an incremented version number. I mailed the original author back when I made these changes in 2020, but never heard back.
As I wrote in my e-mail response to the request for a new version:
Initially I didn't want to release a new version, because since I'm not willing to step up to maintainership, I felt quite uncomfortable declaring "world, this is version 0.3.0". Who am I to declare that?
But I came around to your view. For users, it'll be much simpler if it's just a number, and people might use lsuio to quickly script something, where the script depends on the extended output of the new version. That'll make the version number directly relevant to users.
I'll tag it v0.3.0.
