This is a Web GUI for the same-named Go CLI app saved in the folder GoKernel. It is hosted online at notenstreicher.laurenzfg.com.
It invokes the Go App by means of WebAssembly.
The app has the following purpose:
Notenstreicher is a utility to decide which grades to cancel from your final GPA in the context of the Streichregel of the Computer Science B.Sc. programme of RWTH Aachen University.
In this degree programme, you may cancel at most one course in every focus area from the final GPA. You may cancel courses to a maximum of 30 ECTS.
Just give this program your full transcript and it will tell you the optimal cancellation decision. Although the algorithm should be correct, I do not accept responsibility if the program returns you a non-optimal recommendation.
This project was bootstrapped with Create React App. This repo as fully configured (JS and Go part) continous deployment. So any change is immediately reflected in production.
Keep in mind that these instructions are for the JS part of the project only.
Run build.sh at least once to compile and copy over the WASM blob running the Go kernel,
which in turn calculates the grade cancellation recommendation.
You need to have the Go Compile for that.
Without the blob, the app will crash when you press 'Calculate'.
Of course, another run of build.sh is needed after each and every change of the Go part of the project.
In the project directory, you can run:
Runs the app in the development mode.
Open http://localhost:3000 to view it in your browser.
The page will reload when you make changes.
You may also see any lint errors in the console.
Launches the test runner in the interactive watch mode.

build.sh builds the Go & the JS part of the project in one run.
Builds the app for production to the build folder.
It correctly bundles React in production mode and optimizes the build for the best performance.
The build is minified and the filenames include the hashes.
Your app is ready to be deployed!

Note: this is a one-way operation. Once you eject, you can't go back!
If you aren't satisfied with the build tool and configuration choices, you can eject at any time. This command will remove the single build dependency from your project.
Instead, it will copy all the configuration files and the transitive dependencies (webpack, Babel, ESLint, etc) right into your project so you have full control over them. All of the commands except eject will still work, but they will point to the copied scripts so you can tweak them. At this point you're on your own.
You don't have to ever use eject. The curated feature set is suitable for small and middle deployments, and you shouldn't feel obligated to use this feature. However we understand that this tool wouldn't be useful if you couldn't customize it when you are ready for it.
