Heartbound

@Waoweens: Pirate Software and their game Heartbound is what inspired me to start this project in the first place. Thor and his develop.games site motivated me and gave me resources on where to start. It also inspired the artstyle.

Deltarune

@sitasreturn: Yeah, the game that have been popping ever since it's chapter 2 release back in 2021. Okay not really, this game hits ever since it's initial release. It's just that the game recieved more feedback with the amount of memes about it that have been appearing in 2021. What does Deltarune have to do with this game? Like what part did you pick up from it? If you ask me, it's literally just the walking animation. Why this game in particular then? Obviously there's more games like Deltarune that have the same kind of walking animation like Toby Fox's previous game, Undertale? Because the first thing that comes into the one who animated the walking animation when he was looking for references was "Kris walk cycle". Yeah, this whole paragraph is just meatriding- Ok no, jokes aside there's alot more other games that I would like to credit that couldn't fit here because, well, the title of this or whatever you call it says "Deltarune". You know what? Just read the other inspirations, if you actually read the whole thing, well, grats, you just wasted a minute or more of your life.

Life is Strange

@Waoweens: i played life is strange and immediately fell in love with it. i was inspired by it to make a choice-based game where your choices matter

Player Design

@sitasreturn: Alright, player design. Where do I begin with, oh yeah, in the files, you might stumble upon a png file of the base player character model. Do you know what the base model of the player is based on? If you look closely, it feels like the model is strangely familiar to perhaps one of the games you have played, but what is it? Now, let me give you a short history of what the character base looks like in the earlier versions of it. A little fun fact, it was inspired by Roblox's old character design or what the people of Roblox would refer to as R6. Yeah, that's why the older versions of the character base looks just a bit like the aforementioned design, to which the style kind of adapts to the character base we have now.

For the walking animation, as mentioned before, is inspired by one of the characters' walk cycle in Toby Fox's game, Kris. Basically any indie game that is similar to the style or genre of Toby Fox's game would probably be the inspirations for this walking animation. Another thing I would like to add is that I wanted to make the player have the ability to run. I don't really play Life is Strange or any other games this game is inspired off, so I don't really know what quirky abilities the player should be offered, but I feel like giving the player the ability to run should help the players to not wait for a long time to navigate around. This should also help for... players that don't really care about the atmosphere of the game.
