This update marks one year from the time I started programming the original TeslaCam Viewer. There has been a tons of new feature that have been added over the last year and this update is one that adds even more!

  • I have added more map features to support the new event.json file within TeslaCam.

    • There is now a menu option under "Application Settings (Gear Icon) -> Map Info", where you can now specify what map to used (from a list of 70+ available maps) and the zoom level when hovering over a single event.
    • I have also add a few new color pins to the map as a few newer "reason"s have appeared:
      Green - "user_interaction_dashcam_icon_tapped"
      Pink - "user_interaction_dashcam_panel_save"
      Blue - "user_interaction_honk"
      Red - "sentry_aware_object_detection"
      Orange - "sentry_aware_accel_#.######" ie. "sentry_aware_accel_0.490456"
      Black - (not listed here)
  • The other major update in this release is the new TCVupdater.exe.

    • I have created a small app that will only download the newest files needed to update your version of TeslaCam Viewer II so now you don't have to go through the process of installing them yourself. When TeslaCam Viewer II starts, it will verify/update TCVupdate.exe in case there is a new version of the updater. If TeslaCam Viewer II detects that there is a new version of TeslaCam Viewer then it will still only indicate that there is a new version available (blue update box at the bottom) but will not download it.

    • From 2020.18 & up you can now just click the blue update box or select "Application Settings -> Download Update" and it will start TCVupdater.exe along with closing TeslaCam Viewer II to start the update process. Once the update is completed, it will prompt you if you would like to restart TeslaCam Viewer.

Version 2020.17.5.1

This update also includes minor bug fixes including fixing the multiple installs found under "Add/Remove Programs". When 17.5.1+ is installed, it will remove all previous versions when installing with the Installer Version.

2020.17.4.0 -
This update now adds support to the new "event.json" file that Tesla is now including in TeslaCam. When you hover over an event folder (YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS) you'll now see a Google Map with a pin and a description of the event. When hovering over a parent folder (SavedClips/SentryClips) you'll see a Google Map with pins of all event locations that can be found within that folder. Each different "Reason" type will show up as different color pin.

This update also includes a TrackMode-Demo for those of you with a Tesla P3D and have saved TeslaTrackMode video/telemetry. A 'TeslaTrackMode' folder must be on your USB drive and "Save Video for Laps" must be enabled while in TrackMode to take advantage of this Demo. If you format your USB drive using TeslaCam Viewer II then it will add the folders needed to the root of your USB drive.

Users can also add them by resetting all settings (hold SHIFT while starting TCV)

Added a new feature!
You can now join previously exported clips into one video to tell a story using "Join Events". Join Events can be found under Application Settings (gear icon) or from the Join Events icon in the Export Settings option.

I found a new location in the Windows registry with the help of anonymous user to validate that the VLC ActiveX plugin is installed. The previous location only worked for users running Windows 64bit and not the 32bit version. Both versions of windows now check for HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib{DF2BBE39-40A8-433B-A279-073F48DA94B6}\1.0\0\win64 or win32 instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node...... as WOW6432Node doesn't exist on Windows 32bit machines.

Fixed a bug causing VLC to unexpectedly crash without an error. TCV is not report a crash because it's VLC and the ntdll.dll that crashes from what I found in windows event viewer. I think I was able to address this issue by delaying (by 250ms) how fast TCV switches between event times while scrolling. VLC is sometimes temperamental when you tell it to do something while it's in the middle of doing the same thing already.

Added a dedicated Trash Can button that will delete the current event you are viewing. This was from a "user request" to have an easier way to remove erroneous events from you drive. The option to right click a folder and have a delete option for the current event playing was also added. TCV now forces all players to release the current event files so that they can be properly removed while not showing "In Use".

This will be the last 2019 version! Happy new year to everyone

Fixed issues with players going in/out of full screen and fixed In & Out Markers when being dragged with the mouse. Added some code to detect what version of VLC is needed and changed the locations in the registry where TCV checks if the VLC ActiveX plugin is registered. No luck in finding a way to point TCV to the VLC directory and getting it to register.

Added support for VLC - This fixes the issue of having to re-encode all TeslaCam files for them to play in the original Windows Media Player that was used. WMP is still supported for computer that don't have VLC installed but it is recommended that VLC 3.X be installed before running TeslaCam Viewer II 2019.46 + for the best experience!
