Welcome to the GitHub organization for NeuRoNeLab, an academic laboratory focused on artificial intelligence and pattern recognition, deep learning, bioinformatics, bioimaging and bio-inspired deep neural networks.
Our mission is to advance the field of artificial intelligence and pattern recognition by developing innovative deep learning models inspired by the nervous system of living beings, as well as by exploring new theoretical directions and applications of deep learning techniques. Our work spans a wide range of domains, including bioinformatics, scientific computing, and neuroimaging.
Our laboratory's research interests include:
- Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition
- Deep Learning for bioinformatics, biological and medical imaging, remote sensing, scientific computing
- Bio-Inspired Deep Neural Networks and neural models
- Connectomic Deep Learning
- Graph Neural Networks
Our laboratory is involved in several research projects related to our research interests, including:
- Elegans-AI: a deep learning model inspired by the nervous system of the C. Elegans nematode worm. The model incorporate evolutionary pressure features in its structure, allowing it to process the information in very efficient and effective way (Paper published on Neurocomputing.
