+  The Open Mobile Alliance returns to **Smart City Expo World Congress** in Barcelona with its members to show how **LwM2M** turns city and utility devices into interoperable, manageable, long-life assets. From street lighting to smart water meters, OMA standards help cities and utilities avoid vendor lock-in and deploy with confidence.

+  This year we bring three things to Barcelona: **live multi-vendor demos** at the OMA stand, a dedicated **Water 2.0 panel** on the latest work of the OMA Utility Working Group, and **Smart City SIG sessions** at the Madrid Pavilion, presenting real municipal use cases developed with Madrid Digital. +Following the October 2026 LwM2M Water Interoperability Readiness Workshop, the OMA Utility Working Group brings the smart water metering conversation to Barcelona. The panel covers why utilities need multi-vendor interoperability, how to manage meters over a 15–20 year lifecycle, and where **Water 2.0** stands on its path to a first release in **March 2027**.
