With exchanges wanting clear transparent addresses and no shielded. Can a burner address be used in the flow of shielded transactions?

Shielded coins > 1 time use transparent address > send to normal address.

It could be a tick box that auto unshields to burner address then sends to wherever.

I see no option to generate a new transparent address but this would still be a generated address that can be linked to a wallet? As shown in

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pivx/#!wallets

It works out the addresses in a wallet so kind of defeats purpose of generating a new address that is linked to the same wallet?

Currently using core I create a new burner wallet that is my transparent each time I want to send when using core.

Shield main wallet coins > send to burner transparent address > send to wherever needs it to be unshielded transaction. This burner wallet is then deleted.

There is an option to generate a new address, click the 3 dots on the balance and press 'Refresh address'. MPW will skip any used addresses you might have.
That site links addresses based on transactions you make (If you have address A and B and both of them send to C on the same tx, it assumes A and B are from the same wallet). If you shield all your balance as soon as you receive it, you can't get tracked with that

Auto shield is interesting, we could use the 3rd receive type and always shield any funds received by those addresses

It's a good idea to streamline this process as much as possible. Sometimes exchanges want a transparent address so they can refund to it if they need to, so there should be retention on the ability to monitor and later send from the "burner" address if needed.
