I have noticed some strange out of bounds behaviour in certain cases when using the Underway ST instrument. So, I have added a small spatial buffer for the spacetime region - I think this may help but I haven't had time to diagnose the exact reason.
This should become redundant in any case when implementing #231 and/or #232 - so in that sense this is a temporary fix.
