  • Waiting for Release on F-Droid #54 since it includes many checks that are needed for Google Play too
  • Create Google Play Console Developer account (+ 25$ fee)
  • Check App Bundle build
  • Check/Refresh App assets, Screenshots, app description texts etc.
  • Setup Email for NotallyX support mails (optional)
  • Send Release Draft to Review in Google Play
  • Wait for Google Play Review Feedback
  • Execute Closed Testing 14 days testing phase (see WANTED: Google Play Testers #120)
  • Release on production

This seems to be more complicated than I thought, Google changed their policy for new apps/developers before they can publish an app on Google Play: App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts

The most annoying thing is before I can publish the app, I need to run a Closed Testing phase, which needs 20 individual Testers being invited via Email. Each of these testers have to opt-in for 14 days continously. Without that I can't even submit the App for Production release 😑

Getting the app in to play store is essential to maximize reachability

Yes I saw that there are also some free platforms/apps that people use to find testers.
Still, a very annoying requirement

Update: I have just sent in the v6.1-RC3 for Review in Google Play, after that I should be able to start a Closed Testing phase (with the requirements of min 20 Testers for 14 consecutive days)

FYI: I have uploaded a v6.1 to Google Play Console, currently I am waiting for an approval on some changes for the upcoming close test, but as soon as that is approved, I will open an issue for the Closed Test with instructions on how you can participate
