This factor can be used to slow down the dequeue for frames that are due in the past. The default of 0 maintains the previous behaviour, that stale frames will be dequeued and decoded in a hot loop until we either catch up, or run out.
This factor can be used to slow this down as a multiple of an item's duration. For example, 2x would play stale frames out twice as fast as they should be.
