DICOM imaging studies frequently include multiple image series, each acquired using a distinct protocol (e.g., view, phase, contrast). Series descriptions vary widely often by device manufacturers and sites. Establishing a set of standardized vendor neutral imaging-series names will improve implementation of process hanging protocols and aid in data analysis.
RadLex Committee has initiated a standard CT series naming convention to address these issues.
