About the PR

nerfs rad artifacts significantly.

Why / Balance

for 10 million years, science mains across the globe have been weeping and lamenting the rad artifact. They're irradiated bodies shuddering as they decry the unfairness in the world that would produce such pain and suffering unto the world.

but surely there could be no fix? no respite nor relief? who in this open source repo could possibly fix something as complex as a single number? The idea shakes many to the very core. How could they handle it???

they may only hope that one golden son shall come and save them and bring peace unto the land of science.

/uj
the old values were literally on-par with singulo this makes them weaker so science doesn't irradiate a city block and perma kill a quarter of the station.

I personally think rad artifacts are fine, they'll at most fuck up epi until the mysta can step in to put it in the magic artifact containment box; The station as a whole is rarely affected.

I assume this change was made because wizden sci is much faster paced. Glimmer slows down epi enough already that waiting for the mysta/someone with a rad suit to handle an artifact isn't an issue.

This is LITERALLY a skill issue lmaooooooooo. All the scientists who die to rad artifacts are just naturally selecting themselves from the game. It's perfectly normal for a scientist to carry around a Geiger counter in their pocket, and wear a radsuit when working with the anomalies.

I can't believe they don't, I'm always in my MG suit when anywhere near the artifact room or a live artifact

I can't even tell you the number of times one of my characters has told off a scientist for not using their PPE when around artifacts. Hans won't even so much as enter the artifact chamber without wearing a radsuit, with internals on, regardless of whatever the artifact analyzer says. He's explained it as, "The CO2 from my breath could potentially activate a node I wasn't aware of yet, and trigger a demon core reaction. Or create lethal foam."

He then dips out to grab a snack, and comes back 5 minutes later to find a dead scientist laying on the floor of the anomaly lab, no PPE on, and the artifact spitting out a shitton of rads. Dying to artifacts is genuinely a skill issue. In every conceivably possible case. You can just choose not to die to radiation by wearing the radiation suit and using a geiger counter near the lab. I don't get why people don't.
