This pull request introduces version 2.0 of the BYOD App Protection policies, aligning them with Level 2 of Microsoft's Data Protection Framework, with some settings raised to Level 3 for increased security. The update replaces the previous v1 policies with new, more comprehensive policies for both Android and iOS, and provides detailed documentation of the changes, rationale, and configuration differences.

Documentation and Policy Changes

  • Added a comprehensive CHANGELOG.md in the BYOD folder, detailing the rationale, settings changes, and mapping to the Data Protection Framework for the new v2.0 policies.
  • Replaced v1 policies with new v2.0 policies: Android - OIB - App Protection - U - BYOD L2+ - v2.0 and iOS - OIB - App Protection - U - BYOD L2+ - v2.0, with updated settings for improved security and user experience.
  • The new policies target all Microsoft apps (not just a core group), block printing of org data, require stronger PIN and biometric settings, and enforce stricter actions on jailbroken/rooted devices.
  • Provided guidance for assigning policies to BYOD devices using assignment filters and referenced external tools for compliance maintenance.

- Add new policy files in folder structure matching other OS's
Files were previously committed while the UTF-16LE IntuneManagement rule applied, storing mojibake blobs. Re-added with git add --renormalize under the BYOD UTF-8 .gitattributes rule.
