If we upgrade it to 8.x, Backpack won't support IE9 anymore. I need to double-check it with our team. Besides that, I also saw some slight changes from Percy's check. I propose postponing it to the next major version. If we can introduce beta/next version into Backpack release strategy, we can put it into a beta/next version to validate its real impact in production.

Final decision: postpone it to V39 version.
