To use the recipe[chef_server_backup::build_jobs]
include it in your run list and have a data bag called chef_server_backup
with an item like the following recipe;
### you can leave out the name and the name of the data bag item will be used
{
"url" : "https://chef.example.com/",
"directory" : "/var/chef/backup/dc01",
"key" : "-----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----\nMIIEow..."
}
or a backup job to be removed:
{
"name" : "dc03",
"action" : "remove"
}
If you would rather use a wrapper cookbook instead of data bags include chef_server_backup::default
to install knife backup and make the LWRP available to your cookbook
If the server certificate is not present the resource will use knife ssl fetch to pull it from the server. You should always verify this is the correct and valid server for each instance. If it is invalid backups cannot work.
Rake is set up to run all the tests! Make sure to add chefspec and serverspec as needed.
