Importing chats

  1. Unzip and open TLImporter.exe. Read the displayed information and confirm it. Now, you will be asked to log in into Telegram:

  1. Choose between importing into your Telegram's "Saved Messages" or using the 1:1 format. "N", and you will import the chat inside your Telegram's "Saved Messages". "Y", and you will be asked to log in inside your partner's Telegram account.

New in 3.0: You can choose to use the new's "Secret Mode" if you want more security while passing the credentials. Read here to know more about it.

  1. In this tutorial, we will see how to import a chat into my "Saved messages", as using the 1:1 format requires exactly the same procedures, there are no differences.

You will be asked to Drag-and-drop the txt file, or type the path of it inside the Console. Be sure that it doesn't contain any spaces. This is the important thing we mentioned in Part One of this documentation: Remember the names? Now, you must type them EXACTLY as they appear in the TXT file. If they contain emojis or are difficult to remember, copy and paste them directly from the TXT file:

As you can see, the app will count how many messages each of you has. Just for the sake of curiosity (also, you can use them to estimate how much the importing process will take :P).

Here you are asked another thing: Do you want to upload the TXT file used? If "yes", it will attach the TXT file you are going to import into Telegram as well.

New in 3.0: You can choose between different settings. All the settings are well explained inside the app. All you have to do is use the commands and you can explore the different menus of TLImporter:

  1. Now confirm the process, and you are good to go! You will have a fancy progress bar with the detailed progress of the import.

  1. When the process finishes, you will receive a SUCCESS! message, so don't worry.

The app will also ask you if you want to import another txt file. If you do, the app will ask you if you want to use the same accounts you used before, only your account (User's 1) account, or if you want to use your partner's (User's 2) account.

If you don't, the app will clear the users data from your disk and will say you Goodbye :)

As you can see, the process is really easy and straightforward (besides being in a command-line, don't be scared about that!).
