What changes are you trying to make? (e.g. Adding or removing code, refactoring existing code, adding reports)
Initializing a KNN model to predict the type of wine (class, response variable) based on the chemical features (predictors)
What did you learn from the changes you have made?
The steps and processes of initializing and running a KNN model step by step, it was very helpful to be able to work in small increments.
Was there another approach you were thinking about making? If so, what approach(es) were you thinking of?
No
Were there any challenges? If so, what issue(s) did you face? How did you overcome it?
Yes, I had some challenges with the train_test_split portion of the initialization process. I used a combination of the built in popup feature in python (after you type train_test_split( with an open bracket), reviewing my notes from class, and web search to better understand this function and why I was getting an error.
How were these changes tested?
I executed code as I was writing so that I could see what it was doing and make sure that there were no errors.
