according to esdoc/esdoc#556 (comment) that is not an actively maintained fork of esdoc. Maybe we should try https://github.com/esdoc-next/esdoc-next |

Also I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but that package does not seem to work. steps to reproduce

Yeah, does not seem to work. There are also a couple of errors in the docstrings that need to be fixed before we merge this PR. I am not able to fix this right now. You can take over this PR if you like. |
