We have a network that is IPv6 only.
This makes "inet" optional and adds ipv6_bootproto to specify the method.

With this;

---
network_ether_interfaces:
  - device: eth1
    ipv6_bootproto: dhcp

We get;

# cat /etc/network/interfaces.d/ifcfg-eth1

auto eth1

iface eth1 inet6 dhcp
