Welcome to the minter wiki!

Minter (INTERactice Math) is an API for creating all kinds of visual objects that can be manipulated and that can interact with each other. Its primary purpose are applets for illustrating concepts from maths and physics. New applets ("mobjects" or "math objects") can be created in code, but also modified and linked together at runtime for further exploration.

Platforms

Minter is written in TypeScript and runs in the browser. A companion app for iPad (Tabula) takes full advantage of combined touch and stylus input. It is the recommended way of experiencing the novel UI concept. The browser version on a desktop OS is intended for developing.

User interface

As you open Tabula on iPad, you see an infinite canvas (a "paper") and a vertical sidebar of buttons. Create a new mobject ("math object") by a stroke of a stylus or finger as you hold down the corresponding sidebar button with your non-dominant hand (left for now). The kind of mobject can be hot-swapped during the stroke.
