We created an updated version of the BMP based on the schematic of version 2.1 and the available schematic. Mainly because I am a fan of the Type-C connector and because we reuse pins on the JTAG connector to provide the UART connection.

The project was created based on Kicad 5.1.6 and the official Kicad libraries.

Thinks that changed:

  • Changed the USB to Type-C Receptacle
  • Added jumpers to connect RX and TX lines to the debug connector, can be used only with SWD because it reuses the TDO pin.
  • Added a tag connect footprint to flash and debug the STM controller

The schematic is basically done. In the coming days some documentation will be added and the PCB will be done.

If someone could do a check for errors in the schematic, that would be nice. or to propose some more features or fixes which would be nice to have.

Thanks for your time.

Hi @rs-development, Thank you for the contribution. Before I can merge this you will have to rename the board design to something completely different. bmp22 is too close to the naming of the official native hardware and will cause confusion with our users and cause support issues. Let me know what name you come up with.

I think since there is USB-C support now this is not needed anymore.

Hi all.

So, the plan is to close this PR?

@sergiomd4 added a new proposal with new final files ready for production.

We can add these files to that PR from Sergio.
Does not matter if it will be not produced, we can keep as references for later versions.

Cheers,
