I wanted to learn DX10 as well as how deferred shading works, so I did both!
I have another program which takes Maya 9.0 files and exports them to Lua format, and that’s what this renderer loads and runs. It doesn’t handle many Maya features yet, like multiple UV sets or animations. I just wanted to get it up and running.
It runs, but a bit slow right now. The shader is dropping 100 lights down the box every few seconds, but the majority of them are in the middle of box where the lights don’t intersect any polygons. My next optimization is to early out on the rendering of those lights using a z-buffer or stencil buffer test.
