Simply click on a video previous period in in the timebar (previous to the actual moment running), could be either by a native player or in firefox. The image stops but the audio goes on.
Also, easier to replicate by leftarrow rewind in youtube.
By clicking on a forward moment (that hasn't been played yet) it resolves on working images again.
This has been like this for years.
