I haven't found any R packages or code where the ranked adjusted Rand index function from Pinto et al. (2007) exists. I found this function useful when trying to assess the impact of specific entities/objects/points jumping from one cluster to a nearby cluster vs. jumping from the same cluster to a much more distant cluster when comparing clustering solutions x and y.
The ranked ARI, with its emphasis on assessing clustering validity with distance matrices as opposed to the traditional ARI with its hard classifications of match/mismatch between solutions, seemed to fit in with the spirit of the mclust package.
