The plugin enables the import of digital terrain models.
The following formats are supported:

  • DXF, LandXML, CityGML, REB, Elevation Grid, Grafbat

The settings can be made via the following user interface.

RvtTerrain GUI

Information about the individual file formats can be found here.

In connection with the Import Settings it is possible to import the DTM via:

  • Points --> Revit default import option. Only the points will be imported. Note: Revit calculate it's own mesh. You can edit this after import. BUT the geometry may be changed after processing.

  • Faces --> Points and Faces will be imported. Note: Geometry will be the same, BUT Points or triangles can no longer be reworked in Revit.

Additional notes:

  • before the import the project base point must be set (you can use the tool for this: Georeferencing)
  • for performance reasons, you should not import an area that is too large
  • A seperate log file for processing is written under the path specified in the GUI specified in the GUI, you can edit the pfad (as you like)
  • the imported terrain is sorted into the category: Topography
  • Fade-in and fade-out of contour lines and/or triangulation edges possible with Revit means
