Maintainer Analysis
Changed behavior:
- Repository guidance no longer mandates GitNexus analysis before edits or commits; it now defaults agents to source inspection and reserves GitNexus for optional caller/impact analysis.
- The documented GitNexus repository identifier is now
worldos, and manual indexing commands are prohibited in favor of the machine-managed nightly refresh.
Affected invariants:
- The engine sole-writer, gameplay-proof, Unity, save-state, build, and release-readiness rules are unchanged.
- GitNexus results must still be verified against current source.
Evidence:
- AGENTS.md:1 removes the obsolete reference to a mandatory GitNexus block.
- AGENTS.md:64-68 replaces the injected mandatory workflow with the optional, machine-policy-aligned guidance.
Limitations:
- Review was limited to the supplied AGENTS.md diff; no commands or tests were run.
- No runtime, Unity scene, prefab, package, save-state, or build files changed.
No-finding rationale: The patch is documentation-only and consistently implements its stated policy change. The replacement repository alias, source-verification requirement, indexing prohibition, and runbook reference align with the supplied governing instructions; no correctness, security, data-loss, CI, Unity, or release regression was validated.
Risk Taxonomy
No finding categories.
Validation and Proof
Documentation-only changed surface; runtime execution proof is not required by default.
- recommended: Docs/readme review - All reviewed files are documentation paths. Proof: PR description notes the docs intent.
- not_applicable: Unity editor or Play Mode smoke - WorldOS repo profile implies Unity runtime risk. Proof: Unity editor smoke; Play Mode log; scene/prefab screenshot or recording.
Proof status: not_applicable - No required behavior proof selected for this changed surface.

Maintainer Analysis
Changed behavior:
- Repository guidance no longer mandates GitNexus impact analysis or change detection for every edit; GitNexus is now optional and reserved primarily for caller/impact questions.
- Repository guidance now forbids manual GitNexus analysis commands and points to the machine-managed nightly refresh and runbook.
- The introductory heading no longer references the removed GitNexus block.
Affected invariants:
- No engine, Unity scene, prefab, package, project setting, save-state, gameplay, build, or runtime behavior is changed.
- The guidance still requires GitNexus results to be verified against source.
Evidence:
- AGENTS.md:1 changes only heading text.
- AGENTS.md:64-68 replaces the mandatory generated GitNexus block with concise optional-use policy.
- The provided diff modifies only AGENTS.md.
Limitations:
- No project tests, builds, scripts, shell commands, external services, or GitNexus tools were run, as required.
- This review cannot prove how external tooling may regenerate the removed marker-delimited block.
No-finding rationale: The change is documentation-only and consistently replaces obsolete mandatory GitNexus instructions with the stated optional machine policy. The provided diff shows no validated correctness, security, data-loss, CI, Unity, gameplay, or release regression.

Maintainer Analysis
Changed behavior:
- AGENTS.md now treats GitNexus as optional, defaults agents to source inspection, and prohibits local GitNexus analysis commands in favor of the machine-managed nightly index.
- The repository overview heading no longer refers to an adjacent injected GitNexus block.
Affected invariants:
- The engine sole-writer, geometry, agent-playthrough, rendered-frame, bootstrap-order, Unity, and release-readiness instructions are unchanged.
- GitNexus results must still be verified against current source.
Evidence:
- AGENTS.md:1 removes only the obsolete GitNexus-block qualifier from the heading.
- AGENTS.md:64-68 replaces mandatory GitNexus usage and local indexing instructions with the current optional-use policy and canonical
worldosalias.
Limitations:
- Review was limited to the supplied AGENTS.md diff; no commands, tests, builds, CI status, or external runbook contents were inspected.
- The operational availability of the referenced nightly index and
/Users/m1/Codex/runbooks/gitnexus.mdwas not proven from this diff.
No-finding rationale: The change is documentation-only and consistently implements the stated policy shift. No current runtime, Unity, persistence, security, CI, or release behavior is modified, and the diff does not establish a concrete regression requiring a finding.

Pull Request
Summary
Replaces the GitNexus block that
gitnexus analyzeinjected intoAGENTS.mdwith a short note marking it optional. Machine policy changed on 2026-10-06, with the owner's approval: GitNexus is no longer "use first". A 12-task Opus 5.5 / Sol 6.1 bench showed no measurable gain from GitNexus-first guidance, and several of its tools gave wrong answers (upstream abhigyanpatwari/GitNexus#3486–#3492).The removed block told agents they MUST run
impactbefore editing any symbol anddetect_changesbefore every commit. It also told them to runnode .gitnexus/run.cjs analyze/npx gitnexus analyzewhen the index looked stale. That instruction contradicts the machine rule: the read-only launcher refusesanalyze, and the nightly refresh owns the index.Linked Issue
None. This is machine-policy alignment (codex-operating-kit#152 makes the same change in the global Codex policy).
