Migration Process
In the beginning of 2022, the technical team of ESN VUT Brno has decided to develop a new version of this social network/buddy/pickup system. The new Fiesta+ has currently reached the full functionality of its predecessor and is ready for the migration of all the sections. Maintenance of both systems isn’t sustainable for us, so we are announcing the migration process.
TLDR: New Fiesta is coming connected with ESN Accounts. You can check out the demo at https://fiesta.plus/. The migration is happening on 15-17th of December. If you have any questions, you can ask in the Telegram group.
Since Fiesta contains only data of about 20 thousand people with around 10 thousand buddy/pickup requests, the migration process is already prepared and scheduled.
The transition to the new system goes as follows:

Currently, the demo version is running and accessible to everyone. Feel free to try it on https://fiesta.plus/, where you can check out all the new features. You can read more details about the demo down below.

The first wave of migration will happen at the end of November. All demo data will be discarded and we’ll sync data from the old Fiesta. You’ll have time to check your migrated data while the old Fiesta will still be running. All the accounts will be migrated while keeping the same login credentials as for the old Fiesta.

The final phase is currently planned for the weekend of 15-17th December. The old Fiesta will switch into read-only mode while all of its’ data will be migrated to the new solution and the old site will be redirecting to the new one. The needed downtime/read-only time is approximated to last about a few hours. The final specific migration time will be announced later. No important data from the old solution will be discarded.
The current solution hosts 21 sections and we’re aware that not everyone uses Fiesta actively. Please let us know, if you are not interested in continuing with Fiesta at all, so we won’t bother migrating your data.
On the other hand, if you want to start using Fiesta in your section, don’t be afraid to contact us, so we could add you to the system.

If you want to use your section standalone, just sign up with ESN Accounts and if you’re Local Board, you’ll get editor/admin role in your newly activated section (admin role for local president, editor role for rest of the board) – after first signup, admin is capable of promoting other editors to admins.

Feel free to create your testing accounts for members/internationals and try out all the plugins
